- Douglas Snider alias Snidely Whiplash has an a passion for creating wood sculptures. He is a highly capable self taught artist, carver, and sculptor. His background is fine finishes came from the automotive and aerospace industry. By the age of 23 he had learned the art of building original fiberglass molds for custom production of Corvette body parts. Working for the Prime Contractor as a Quality Assurance Engineer on America’s Space Shuttle Program for 30 years, he became intimate with getting thing right. Doug learned to fish by his Grandmother at age 5. He began offshore fishing in 1990. His passion for wood carving and fishing has driven him to create and deliver the most realistic wood carvings fish replicas at reasonable prices. Doug is literally a tree hugger because “we only purchase and use rescued wood that has been cut down by land developers and tree trimming companies who would otherwise take this valuable resource to the local dump to be turned into mulch”.
